Curry Fired, Interrupts Speculation on Stephon Marbury's Destination

So, this happened. Just now, apparently.

It's hard to really say too much about the job Michael Curry did in Detroit, just because the situation turned out to be so dreadful. Dumars obviously wasn't really aiming to win last season, instead looking toward the rumored (as in, I'm not even sure it exists) free agent class of 2010. Granted, the talent the Pistons did have still should have gotten them more than 39 wins, but how many more? Hell if I know. I'm not sure if it was bad enough to fire Curry, and I'm pretty sure Doug Collins (if that's who they hire) isn't really any better. But the Pistons are going to sign Ben Gordon, so who cares about the coach? Everything will be alright with Ben Gordon.

  1. Ben Gordon will ruin the next coach the Pistons hire, that is just a given.

"You see, Ben, you usually want to wait until at least one other teammate is downcourt before chucking up a low-percentage circus shot. A though is all."

As a Bulls fan, I pray the Pistons sign him. Please make him go away, I'm so tired of his Costco-Iverson act. If he'd stop chasing the zone every game and just played a team game he'd be so much better.

  2. You're right, of course. Gordon's a marginally better Jamal Crawford, and as such will never really be a key player on a very good team. He can be a pretty nice piece, if he were to accept a role similar to the one Joe Johnson held on the Suns.

I was merely pointing out the absurdity of trading Billups for cap room in TWO THOUSAND TEN!!!, and then using that cap room on Ben fucking Gordon. Also? I wanted to post the picture of Britishy Gordon.

  3. Well, if Britishy-Gordon is on the table then the game has changed. Britishy-Gordon has strange Celtic powers that enable him to block shots with a mere gaze.
